Client Machine Set Up

Required Basis For Setting Up New Client Machines


When setting up a client on a new machine the following settings and installations must be in place before the set up can commence -


  • DotNet must be installed on the machine


  • An administrator account must be set up on the local machine. Username must be SlyAdmin, password should be set to Password1, this will be changed during installation.


  • Internet access must be available


  • Access to all wintill.com and wintill.co.uk variations must be enabled. If a proxy server is being used then the following should be added to the exceptions - *.wintill.co.uk; *.wintill.com; IP address of Till 01. This can be done as follows Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings ->  Advanced -> enter in the Exceptions field.


  • SQL Native Client must be installed


  • If the OS is Windows 7 User Account Controls must be set to Never Notify (Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change User Account Control Settings -> Never Notify)
